Schedule Instagram posts with captions in your own style

Instagram starts with the visual, but the caption is where people decide whether to follow you. ProPost writes captions that sound like you, pairs them with your image or video, and publishes at the time you choose.

What ProPost does for Instagram

ProPost writes your Instagram posts in your own style, checks them against Instagram's limits as you type, and publishes them at the time you pick. Here is what that looks like in practice.

1

Captions in your voice

Describe the photo or the idea behind it and ProPost drafts a caption from your style profile. It stays within the 2,200-character limit, and you can ask for a shorter or warmer version in plain words.

2

Visual first, always

Instagram doesn't publish text alone, so ProPost makes sure each post has its image or video before it goes out. Upload your own, or generate an image that matches the caption.

3

Hashtags and a first comment

Get hashtag suggestions that fit the post, then decide where they live: in the caption, or in a first comment published right after the post.

4

Comments and messages in one place

For accounts connected through our publishing integration, read and answer comments and direct messages from ProPost, and set keyword rules that send a direct message when someone comments a chosen word.

Instagram at a glance

Read from the same rules ProPost uses to check your posts, so this table always matches what the app enforces.

ProPost attaches one image or one video to each post. Video, first comments, threads and the other per-network options work on accounts connected through our publishing integration, which is part of the paid plans. The composer warns you before a post goes over a limit.

Tips for posting on Instagram

General, well-established advice. Your own analytics will tell you what works best for your audience.

  1. Lead with the strongest imagePeople scroll fast. A clear subject, good light and a frame that reads well at phone size do more than heavy filters.
  2. Front-load the captionOnly the first line or two show before the caption is cut. Put the hook or the key information there, then add the story.
  3. Use hashtags with intentA few specific hashtags that describe the post and your niche are more useful than a long list of generic ones.
  4. Invite a replyEnd with a simple question or a clear next step. Answering the comments that follow keeps the conversation going.
  5. Keep a recognisable lookConsistent colours, framing or formats help people recognise your posts in the feed before they read your name.

Schedule Instagram posts in three steps

  1. 1

    Connect your account

Add your Instagram account from Settings, in the Channels section. It takes a few clicks, and you can disconnect it whenever you like.

  2. 2

    Write in your style

Give ProPost an idea, a topic or a link. It drafts the post in your voice, sized for Instagram, and you change anything you want.

  3. 3

    Pick a time

Choose an exact date and time, or add the post to your queue. ProPost publishes it then, and your calendar shows everything that is planned.

Prefer to work from your AI assistant?

ProPost works with AI assistants over MCP. Ask yours to draft a Instagram post, fit it to the limits and schedule it. You decide what gets published: each connection can be limited to drafts, to scheduling, or allowed to publish.

Frequently asked questions

Can ProPost publish to Instagram automatically?

Yes. Connect your Instagram account and schedule the post: ProPost publishes it at the time you set. You decide what gets published.

Can I post text only on Instagram?

No. Instagram needs an image or a video with every post, so ProPost checks for one before publishing and tells you if it's missing.

How long can an Instagram caption be?

Up to 2,200 characters. ProPost counts as you type and can shorten a caption to fit.

Can I delete an Instagram post from ProPost after it's published?

No. Instagram doesn't let apps delete published posts, so you remove it in the Instagram app. Check the caption before it goes out.

Can I manage several Instagram accounts?

Yes. You can connect more than one Instagram account, within the number of channels your plan includes, and each can use its own voice.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The free plan includes 1 connected channel, 5 AI drafts a month and up to 2 scheduled posts a week, with no credit card. Paid plans add more channels, more drafts, unlimited scheduling and our publishing integration for video and the per-network options.
