Idea bank

propost-idea-bank

Quando ajuda

Captures, curates and uses the ideas in a person's ProPost idea bank with add_idea, list_ideas and delete_idea, saving ideas from conversations, notes, customer questions and news, giving them findable titles, removing duplicates, and turning the best into drafts with generate_draft or create_draft. Use whenever someone says "save this idea", "add that to my ideas", "what ideas do I have", "I need something to post about", "turn my ideas into posts", "clean up my idea list", "capture post ideas from this meeting or article", or "I ran out of ideas".

Keeps a small, sharp pool of post ideas that is easy to draw from: every idea is specific, titled, free of duplicates, and either waiting to be used or visibly used.

Before you start

  1. get_account: autonomy, AI drafts left (turning an idea into a generate_draft costs one per distinct voice).
  2. list_ideas (limit up to 200): the current bank, newest first, each with id, title, text, created_at and post_id when a draft was already written from it. Know it before adding, so you do not duplicate.
  3. list_channels and list_personas when you will draft: where each idea fits and in which voice.

Workflow

Capture

  1. Pull ideas from whatever the person gives you: a conversation, meeting notes, an article, a customer question, a news item, their own data. For each, extract the angle, not the whole source. One idea per entry.
  2. Write each as: a title (3 to 8 words, findable, starts with the topic or format) and text (1 to 3 sentences: the point, one concrete detail the person gave you, who it is for). add_idea with title (max 120) and text (max 2000). Good titles: "Story: first customer who churned", "How-to: weekly review in 15 minutes", "Opinion: stop tracking vanity metrics", "Question: what would you automate first?". Tag-like prefixes (Story, How-to, Opinion, Proof, Question, News, Event) make the bank scannable and map to formats.
  3. Show what you saved in a short list. If add_idea returns idea_limit, the bank is full: curate (below) or ask which to remove.
  4. News: save the angle and why it matters to this audience, plus the source name if the person gave it. Do not invent details from the news; if you have not read it, ask or mark [check source].

Curate

  1. list_ideas and group by theme and format. Merge near-duplicates into the stronger one; list proposed deletions with ids and titles.
  2. Flag ideas that are too vague ("something about leadership"), stale (tied to a past date), or already used (post_id set). Offer to sharpen a vague idea by asking one question each, then add_idea the sharper version.
  3. Delete only with consent. Show the exact list and ask. Then delete_idea for each. It is permanent; drafts already written from it stay. Prefer keeping used ideas visible until the person says remove.

Use

  1. Choose ideas with the person: balance formats (one story, one how-to, one opinion, one proof) and pillars; avoid the same angle twice in a week. Pairs well with propost-weekly-content-plan.
  2. Turn an idea into a draft:
The person wants ProPost to write it: generate_draft with idea set to the idea's text (10 to 2000 characters; add the detail you know), plus channel_ids and optionally persona_id. One monthly draft per distinct voice. Say the cost first.
The person supplies the words, or AI drafts are out: create_draft with your text.
  3. Then check_post, add media if needed, and queue per autonomy.
  4. Tell the person which idea became which post (post_id). Offer to delete the idea, or keep it for a second angle.

Writing guidance

  • An idea is a claim or a scene, not a topic. "Remote work" is a topic; "Why our team dropped Friday meetings and what happened" is an idea.
  • Capture the person's specific detail while it is fresh: the number, the customer reaction (anonymised), the mistake. These make drafts sound like them.
  • Aim for a bank of 15 to 40 live ideas. Fewer starves the plan; more hides the good ones.
  • When someone says "I'm out of ideas": mine their last published posts (list_posts, status: "published") for follow-ups, common questions from customers, mistakes they have made, and a number they could share.

Guardrails

  • No invented facts, quotes or results in an idea; mark [add detail].
  • No private data about third parties; anonymise customers and colleagues unless the person confirms they are public.
  • Do not delete ideas on your own initiative, even duplicates.
  • Do not spend AI drafts without saying how many, and never bulk-generate from the whole bank.
  • Reading list_ideas and saving ideas work at every autonomy level; only scheduling needs schedule.

If something fails

  • idea_limit: the plan's idea bank is full; curate or delete with consent.
  • quota_exceeded: no AI drafts left; write the draft yourself with create_draft.
  • generation_failed: retry once, then fall back to create_draft.
  • rate_limited: pause, then continue with fewer calls.
  • empty_content / too_long: the idea text or the draft needs fixing.
  • Others: see ../CONVENTIONS.md.
